The Curly Try Guide | CURL KEEPER

Oh Happy Day!

We’re back at it with the curl product search and today I’m reviewing Curl Keeper! When I started looking for new products to try I was surprised by the amount of curly products that are out there. This was not the case in my childhood! Curl Keeper was one that I saw a lot on Instagram so I was eager to give it a try. Thanks to Curl Keeper for sending me some goodies to try out!

This blog post was made in collaboration with Curl Keeper. All products were gifted by Curl Keeper and all opinions on products are my own.

CURL KEEPER

Curl Keeper is a Canadian company that is passionate about sharing their knowledge of curls. They believe that a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 results in perfect hair. pH is a measure of acidity or alkalinity. It is used as a scale of matching our environment to our body. Curl Keeper products are all pH balanced to maintain healthy hair. This results in healthier, shinier and more controllable hair every time.

PRODUCT REVIEWS

Curl Keeper Original : I was really interested to learn about this product. It’s a water based so you don’t have to worry about it building up if you use it a few days in a row. I think its great for refreshing.

Curl Keeper Gel : This gel is pretty thick and does leave a little stickiness on your hands. It has great hold an minimal crunch.

Curl Keeper Leave-in : I did like using this Leave In but I personally prefer to use my conditioner as a leave in.

Flexy Brush : This brush is awesome! I rarely use a brush but I started using it to test and it now lives in my shower. It makes it easy to brush through. Many people use it while stying as well. It helps to create clumps of curls for great results.

H2O Water Bottle : MUST HAVE water bottle. Instead of just spraying water, it’s a mist. This helps to evenly distribute the water without completely soaking hair. This has saved me on refresh days!

WASH DAY + REFRESH

So my very first time using Curl Keeper was in a rush right before I left for a wedding. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try and I kinda rushed through the process. Once dry, I was surprised at the hold I was experiencing. Then I looked at the side of my hair. To my surprise, I had a huge chunk of frizz. I was so disappointed but felt like it wouldn’t be fair to not try again. I mean, Maybe it was a user error.. {not like that hadn’t happened before}

After trying it again and taking my time it looked great! I’m so glad I gave it another try. If I’m being honest, I always get nervous to use too much product. Especially when I’m trying something new. This is something I need to get better at.

So here are my results.

Day One – Used all three styling products and let air dry.

Day Two – Refreshed with Gel.

Day Three – Refreshed with Original and styled. Had a bit of frizz on the right side so I pinned it back. You learn to make it work when there’s just a little frizz!

The next wash day I styled with the Leave In Conditioner and Gel and let it dry overnight. The curls were very tight when I woke up. haha. Here is day one and four refreshed days. It did start to get a little frizzy but that doesn’t really bother me.

PRICE

Curl Keeper is in the middle of the scale for pricing ranging from $18-$23 for products. There is a 45 day money back return policy so it’s safe to say you can try and return.
